The Portfolio Strategy Group is looking for a Senior Quantitative Research Analyst, who would be responsible for developing quantitative research, which provides insight into specific securities and equity sectors.

The Portfolio Strategy Group’s mandate is the analysis of the sectors and industries that comprise the S&P 1500 Super Composite Index. The group approaches this goal with a combination of price performance and valuation metrics, relative earnings estimate revisions (REER), and key macro economic factors to help them identify attractive action-oriented investment opportunities. The Strategy group issues proprietary research reports on a regular basis for clients highlighting our various recommendations on a sector and industry level.

The Portfolio Strategy Group is looking for a Senior Quantitative Research Analyst, who would be responsible for developing quantitative research, which provides insight into specific securities and equity sectors. This position is responsible for creating innovative financial tools, methodologies and products, which are unique in the industry. The Senior Quantitative Research Analyst partners with strategy research sales to customize mathematical models for product design.

Responsibilities

Strategy Research

• Create innovative financial tools and products, which are unique in the industry.

• Analyze financial information and produce forecasts of industry sectors and overall economic conditions, which may impact investment decisions.

• Build financial models and prepare reports, charts and graphs to illustrate financial information and trends.

• Marketing investment ideas to institutional clientele.

• Research economic, industrial and corporate developments.

• Interpret investment data, risks and economic influences.

• Publish research to reach a target market using, booklets, on line publications, emails, etc.

• Partner with Strategy Research Sales to customize mathematical models for product design.

• Establish and maintain contacts, within the global asset management community, in order to stay current with industry trends, risks and opportunities.

• Participate in special projects and initiatives, as requested.

Management

• Coach and mentor Strategy Research Analysts.

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to team members.

• Manage the Performance Management process for direct reports.

• Communicate key goals and priorities and monitor their progress.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in finance or related discipline required; Masters or PhD a plus, although not required; CFA also a plus

• 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience

• Experience working in the financial services industry

• Prior management experience

• Proven marketing aptitude

• Willingness to travel

• Knowledge of BBH products, services and practices

• Programming knowledge and expertise (preferably in financial industry)

• Knowledge of various market data providers (i.e. Bloomberg, Factset, etc.) and their software a plus preferred

• Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills

• Expert knowledge of US equities market

• Expert knowledge of equity research and professional asset management industries

• Extensive experience with statistical programs and tools

• Knowledge of emerging trends in the industry

• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

• Strong ability to make sound business decisions

• Strong ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, while meeting deadlines

• Experience with standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations

• Series 7 & 63, 86 & 87 registrations preferred but not required
