BackgroundThe Private Bank and Private Wealth Management help wealthy individuals and families to protect and grow their wealth, and at the appropriate point, to transfer their wealth to future generations. The Private Bank brings advice and solutions to the ultra high-net-worth group ($25 million and up), while Private Wealth Management addresses the needs of those in the $10 - $25 million wealth range. The two businesses are led by separate management teams. Private Wealth Management has the larger footprint, primarily U.S.-centered, while the Private Bank has a strong global presence. Each business fields its own sales team, but they leverage much in common, especially product development, management and marketing support. There are four product practices: investment, banking, credit and wealth structuring/corporate trustee services. RoleThe Senior Writer, together with the product marketing team, supports the marketing needs of the investments business by creating content that is persuasive and easily understood, which will help the sales teams win business from prospects, current clients and intermediaries. Content will be geared toward individual high net worth clients and should share our perspective in a client friendly way. The function consists largely of original writing, but could on occasion involve the editing of others' work. Additionally, the candidate will interview seasoned, senior executives on a consistent basis and will therefore be required to express their views in a concise and accurate way. The Senior Writer partners primarily with two areas of expertise:- our investment product experts- our experts in investment strategy and portfolio construction The Senior Writer also partners with the sales force to shape the content and its delivery; legal and compliance partners to vet the text; and the design/production team to package the content in the appropriate format. Although the Senior Writer is primarily focused on the investments business, it is expected that he/she will have the reporting skills to carry out writing assignments on general wealth management issues. ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Writer:- Develops content that highlights our intellectual capital in investments and other wealth management areas- Delivers this content in a variety of formats, from pitch books to longer white papers.- Writes persuasively and in the straightforward, direct manner of the J. P. Morgan voice.- Ability to position investment product features that are clearly aligned with client benefits and concerns.- Thinks visually and how to organize information to grab the reader.- Quickly gets up to speed on the J. P. Morgan editorial style.- Works with all stakeholders to reach agreement on final copy.- Communicates progress on projects to all stakeholders.- Ensures accuracy of information through thorough proofreading before it goes to press.- Observes the record-keeping required by Compliance.- Helps product teams in the proper dissemination and promotion of materials.- Capable of prioritizing and executing projects in a timely fashion, and delivers within deadlines.
