Position Description:
Job Summary
The Investment and Client Applications (ICA) team within the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) is seeking an individual to lead the team responsible for Wellington's corporate Extranet and Hedge Fund suite of applications. The successful candidate will also be responsible for critical application and reporting initiatives in support of the Global Relationship Management (GRM), Global Business Development (GBD), Hedge Fund Administration (HFA), and Sponsored Products & Marketing business units.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support efforts • Work with business team members, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans • Act as a hands-on lead with responsibilities to author technical design, architecture, code, and support documentation • Manage a team of employees and consultants through all aspects of the software development lifecycle to ensure technical delivery of the applications
Job Qualifications
• Excellent leadership, technical, management, and systems analysis skills • Must have 7 or more years of proven object-oriented software design and development experience • Must have 7 or more years of proven hands-on design, development, and architecture experience in Java-based technologies • Must have 5 or more years of proven software development experience with browser-based applications and technologies, used both by internal users and externally on the internet • Must have 3 or more years of proven experience with such technologies as web services, XML/XSLT, Struts Framework, log4j, Ant/Maven, and SOA • Must have 3 or more years leading engineering teams on complex projects • Proven experience in building technology solutions to satisfy complex business needs • Must possess advanced hands-on Oracle SQL, SQL tuning, and PL/SQL skills • Must be comfortable working in a Unix and/or Linux environment, and possess solid experience in various shell scripting languages • Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application servers such as BEA WebLogic 9.x or above • Experience with various software development methodologies, such as RUP • Willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment • Proven ability to support multiple applications simultaneously • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
The preferred candidate will possess experience with the following: • Documentum DFC • .NET technologies • Jasper • Apache FOP
