A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Interim Business Manager to hold direct responsibility for the management of key Commercial products within the Commercial and Broker department within RBS Insurance.

You will have direct responsibility for the management of the following Commercial products: o Buy-to-let o Business from Home o Office & Surgery o Hotel
For these products you will: o Manage and implement strategic initiatives in line with the strategy of Commercial Direct as a whole o Be accountable for the profit and loss o Management of the proposition through all distribution channels o Management of the retail price
Key Deliverables:
• Proactive input into the Commercial Direct Strategy • Successful delivery of the key strategic projects • Delivery of the product business plans, including: - Income, profit and in force portfolio size objectives • Proactive identification of proposition opportunities that will: - Enhance the proposition appeal to the target market, or generate profit improvements. • Positive working relationships with all relevant RBS Insurance Departments
Other Responsibilities:
• To optimize growth and profitability of the assigned CD products • To monitor the performance of the assigned CD products, manage prices in line with the agreed strategy and ensure profitability targets are achieved. • To work with central functions to develop an in depth knowledge of market and customer insight for the assigned CD products • To continually review the customer satisfaction with the product offering and to develop product enhancements or profit improving changes for the assigned CD products. • Establish strong & effective relationships with all Commercial and Motor departments particularly Marketing, Underwriting, Operations, E-Commerce and Customer Insight. • To proactively input into the wider Commercial Own Brands business activities. • To be aware of and comply with the requirements of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and any other legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks. • To develop self in order to maximize personal contribution to the job. • Reinforce the culture and core values of Commercial Direct through appropriate behaviors and actions. • To focus on costs, process improvements and/or efficiency to contribute to the profitability of the business.
Specialist Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Educated to degree level, or relevant professional qualification. • Underwriting & Retail Pricing experience • Exposure to Product Development • Experience of Commercial Insurance market • Understanding of Insurance P&L issues
