Leading Bank in Doha seeks candidate with Private Equity experience to join as a Credit Risk Manager. The chosen candidate will be responsible for conducting credit risk and investment analyses and ensuring that all the transactions are within the approved limits.
Our client is one of the leading Middle Eastern banks within the GCC region and specifically Doha in Qatar. Established over 50 years ago they focus on investing into four strategic sectors: Treasury, Wealth Management, Corporate Banking and Retail Banking.
Role Objective:
This is a line and advisory role that will see the incumbent:
Liaise extensively with Senior Management to provide added value through effective credit portfolio and counterparty risk management.
Assist in evaluating investment proposals and is active in communicating risk awareness and risk information on the broad risks under his/her responsibility.
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct credit risk and investment analyses and ensures that all the transactions are within the approved limits at an individual and at a portfolio level.
Assist in identifying undue credit risk concentrations and in implementing new credit risk management technologies.
Review credit concentrations by asset segmentation in terms of credit facilities, industry sectors, past due ageing and collateral cover.
Promote consistency in the definition, measurement, and evaluation of credit risks.
Develop credit risk measurement processes to capture credit risk and facilitates effective risk management.
Review overall credit portfolio as to risk class categories.
Establish the capital adequacy computations for the credit risks and monitors capital sufficiency requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree educated.
Practical exposure to Credit Risk within a Middle Eastern financial institution:
Private Equity knowledge is essential (understanding company valuations).
Islamic Banking experience.
Project Finance (ability to handle complex valuations).
Good understanding of Alternative Assets e.g. Private Equity, Hedge Fund and CDOs.
Working knowledge of Fixed Income Debt Securities, structured credit products, credit derivatives, Sukuks, and Convertibles.
Ability to reach balanced credit decisions.
