Our client is an existing Broker Dealer that is currently staffing a fixed income trade desk. We are looking for multiple candidates.

Areas of desired expertise- Muni, Corp, Agency, CDs- all grades. 

The ideal candidate will have strong broker dealer relationships that can be leveraged for the buying and selling of product. 

Long Island, NY Location

The Fixed Income Trader is responsible for research, competitive analysis, distribution, presentation and execution of fixed income transactions. Identifying and maintaining an efficient marketplace based on the needs of the firm. Cultivating and maximizing opportunities for revenue for the firm. Working as a team to leverage off each other’s strengths and provide maximum coverage. Continue to study the developments in the marketplace and be able to effectively communicate the technical issues that affect the purchase and sale of securities.
 

Responsibilities:

• Track and monitor the availability of positions within the marketplace.

• Quantify fair market values within sectors and identify opportunities based on firms’ needs.

• Present a wide array of securities that represent value in each sector.

• Select at least two specific and developed presentations, per sector, per day to be included in “bond house” on a consistent basis.

• Maximizing revenue.

• Effective use of tools such as Bloomberg for analytics, research and communication.

• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills with regard to technical information and the ability to identify when it should be utilized in the sales process.

• Demonstrate great attention to detail. 

• Effective use of Outlook and other systems to prioritize, organize and maximize time management.

• Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, drive and analytical skills to accomplish department goals.

Requirements/ Qualifications:  If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics and/or Engineering.

• Three years or more of related experience in fixed income trading

• Series 7 and 63 licensing by the NASD

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as bonds, financial market indices, rates, articles, contracts, instructions and reports.

• Superior verbal communication skills, specifically breaking down complex analytical information into the sales process.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest rates, commissions, proportions, percentages, amortizations (basic bond match skills).

• Expert in Bloomberg, knowledge of Bond Desk, Trade Web, Night Bond Point, and TMC

Compensation and Benefits Package:

• 100k to 200k on the base + monthly bonus.
