The growing demand for this service is a response to both new regulations and increased scrutiny of fund managers by investors. With its wide coverage of vanilla and exotic derivative data inputs across all asset classes and its broad first-hand derivatives expertise, Markit has unique competitive advantages in this space. Teams of quantitative analysts have been built up in London and New York to operate and develop this business.

Position summary

Derivative Valuation Analyst. This individual will build a body of knowledge in the primary derivative asses classes to support the daily processing of derivative (and cash) positions submitted by clients. Particular emphasis on price challenges and decomposition of derivative results. The analyst will work with clients during the initial onboarding phase through production. Analysts will also undertake various data capture and review procedures in support of the global valuation business.

Duties & accountabilities

Utilize Markit’s proprietary technology to generate daily mark-to-market valuations of derivative portfolios

Interact with clients to satisfy requests and explain the models, data, and assumptions behind the valuations they receive

Participate in the development and testing of new models for the systematic valuation of complex derivatives

Business competencies

Education and experience

Bachelors Degree in engineering, finance, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline. Significant Excel experience. Knowledge of SQL desirable.

Commercial awareness

Understanding of financial markets and derivative markets specifically.
