JOB DESCRIPTION Evaluate the creditworthiness of Japanese financial institutions and/or corporations and assign internal credit ratings and set credit risk exposure limits Monitor daily credit events and quarterly financial results of existing clients Prepare credit write-ups to recommend internal ratings and limits for one's own assigned clients Assess how covenants, collateral, and other terms & conditions for derivative transactions mitigate risk. Discuss the creditworthiness of clients with senior professionals, recommending terms and conditions of the transaction. Support senior credit professionals in terms of credit and transaction analysis and monitoring, including conducting research, constructing financial data spreads and peer comparisons, as well as monitoring covenants and other triggers under the transaction agreement. REQUIRED SKILLS Solid credit analysis experience, corporate finance, or research background, with the ability to read financial statements Native Japanese language proficiency Good written English; able to speak confidently in English in a variety of circumstances, including telephone conference calls At least intermediate skills in computer spreadsheet calculations Preferred skills Strong academic record and evidence of commitment to continuing professional growth, such as MBA,CFA,CPA,etc. Derivative product knowledge such as swaps, options, repo, commodities, etc. Experiences in leveraged finance and loan structuring (leveraged buy-outs, management buy-outs,etc.) Extended study abroad in an English-speaking country or work experience in an American or European financial institution REQUIRED PERSONALITY Team player; team orientated
