To assist with the OPER/DFI/FIN/PLS - ATM Project Finance department's heavy credit burden.
Main Responsibilities: Duties comprise: - performing detailed annual/semi-annual/quarterly credit reviews ? handling various amendments/waivers to portfolio transactions ? responsible for producing various research papers, as required ? preparation & circulation of Deal Summary Transmission Sheets ? updating Starweb ? various ad hoc tasks & reports, as requested
The candidate must be willing to: - Prepare Deal Summary Transaction Sheets at deal closing - Prepare and process annual credit reviews and rate the transactions via Starweb.
Accordingly, the candidate will need to perform the following: * Analyse historical financial statements * Report on the construction progress on and/or operating performance of the projects (PAS) / performances of the borrower under LBO * Follow up of covenants (LEV) * Identifying industry trends * Run sensitivity analysis on financial forecasts and models * Assess country, market and environmental risk * Prepare and process waivers and amendments to Financing Agreements * Track and monitor compliance with financial and information covenants provided under the Finance Agreements and inputting them into Loan IQ * Liaise with other departments within the bank (front office, back office, syndication and RISQ) as well external contacts (other banks, the banks' advisers, etc.)
At the end of the internship, the candidate can expect, at the least, to have enhanced his/her credit analytical skills and interpersonal skills as well as have a better understanding of financing structures in respect of Project and Leveraged Finance.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Education - Finance degree or equivalent
Past experience - Some knowledge of leveraged or other structured finance preferred
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Ideally have had exposure to/an understanding of Project Finance/structured lending - Enthusiasm for the Agency role - this is an important part of our operation - Understanding loan documentation - Modeling skills ideal, or at minimum a high level of competence on Excel spreadsheets - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral - Team player, with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility ? Exceptional presentation skills - Confidence to deal with clients and internal staff (high level of contact with front office) at all levels of business
